Letter : Eagle Point [Gloucester County, Virginia] to D.C. Randolph [Richmond], 1862 April 16.

Bryan writes to his friend D.C. Randolph about the Civil War activities near Yorktown and Gloucester County. He reports on the Federal ships shelling the Guinea woods, the noise of the cannon at York, and the 100,000 men McClellan encamped between Ship Point and Lee's Mill. Bryan comments on faulty Tredegar cannon and plethora of runaway slaves. He mentions that Randolph Harrison (46th Virginia Regiment) of Elk Hill crossed the river with him.
